2 hours of cleaning my parents roof and gutters out and then cleaning up all the debris that fell to the ground. I also had 3 hours of cleaning house, laundry and cooking supper while the wife prepped for a yard sale. The proceeds go to our niece who got an internship in South Africa. When she gets back, she's going to George Washington university in Washington DC. Proud of her and all that she has accomplished.
Happy that both the women's and men's US national soccer teams won their games today. Both teams have some world class players. Remember the name Christian Pulisic...he will go down in history as one of the best. Big game for the men's team Sunday against El Tri (nicknamed for the green, white and red colors of the flag) in Mexico at Estadio Azteca. It is a must win for us to qualify for the World Cup in Russia next year. Ahhh, Estadio Azteca, the place where dreams are made and/or crushed. At 7,200 feet above sea level, this venue has been a thorn in the USMNT's side. Altitude affects the fitness of the players, movement of the ball and fans. No doubt that it will be a tough game. I know that you don't really like soccer, but it will be on FS1.
The boys received the best compliment they could have received today at "futsal." (Futsal is an indoor version of 3v3 soccer. The ball has less bounce and there are no goal keepers. Very fast and technical.) The local director of coaching saw us on the way out and said, "Man, Team Harris is unstoppable. I'll have to make sure to mix the teams up better next time." For some reason, all three of my boys ended up on the same team. It was a round Robin double elimination tournament. We play in the 7-9 year old league and my boys are 5,7, and 9. We won...yard sale tomorrow and Saturday then a 70th birthday party for one of my mentors at a local brew pub.
