I have 405# of OLY weights a 45# OLY bar, two benches, a weight tree and squat stands. The bench I use is good, a little high for my taste, but doable. I can move the weight supports/arms and have a dip station. The squat stands are nice because they take up no room. I have everything I need, nothing fancy, but it works. I have been training barefoot and love it. I have also been using 2 & 3 finger grip on my pull exercises to help strengthen my hands. Got the idea about the fingers from reading about Doug Hepburn. Dude cleaned 90# with his pinkie finger and right hand pressed 170#!

The equipment sounds great. Do you have a pull-up bar? Sometimes I wish I had squat stands. I like my rack, but it takes up a bunch of space. As big as that thing is, I should've just gotten a full rack. Also, what is the benefit of training barefooted? I've never thought much about it. I train with just socks on for Deadlifts, but that's about it. (And I put a mat under my feet for added traction on those) I would think it would be slippery as all get out and the first time I dropped something on my foot it would SUCK. Not arguing or anything. Just wondering what the benefit is? As for the partial grips, that sounds like some kind of torture that only we could think up. I like it!

Well, the barefoot thing started when I began running barefoot/minimalist. When I read the old time strongman books and articles, that was the norm for those guys back then. Now that I am at home, I just don't put shoes on. I've got carpet on the floor of my garage and I can really feel things and push through my heels. As for dropping something on my feet, yes, it would hurt. What I find is that I really pay attention.

I was thinking how dangerous that would be on a concrete floor. You run barefooted outdoors? Wow...

I don't run BF like I used to. When we lived in North Alabama, I had lots of green space, now that I am in suburbia I run in New Balance 0° minimalist shoes. Basically just a fancy sock with a semi rigid skeleton and a rubber tread about 3mm thick. I wore them when I worked out at the gym, but now that I am at home, I only wear them when I do MetCons or run.
