5x220:
This set looked pretty good to me. When I removed the bar from the rack, I probably should've held it straight up with my arms locked for another second or two before beginning the descent. I'm still not getting anywhere near the arch that some people can get in my back. My legs were braced and feet were stationary. The pauses were good for the most part. I would say "acceptable." They could've been a hair longer.
A personal note would be that I had to slide more forward than usual on the bench so that if I missed a rep, I would be forward enough to use the safeties. That put my neck right in front of the cross bar, where there is not a lot of support and under a pretty heavy load. I remember feeling terribly uncomfortable during these sets. My neck was hurting and it even hurt my right shoulder. If I can't get another bench, I may look into putting a piece of plywood under the bench or somehow moving the bench closer to the rack so that I can move back a little.

It looks like my legs didn't fully engage until right before the first rep, after the bar had been unracked. Again, not much of an arch in my back. The pause on the first rep looked pretty good. The second rep wasn't paused at all. I need to make some improvements to my bench/setup.

Nice form, no struggles. I wouldn't worry about the arch, I don't.

Thanks. I think the point of the arch is to:
A. Lessen the distance that the bar has to travel as much as possible.
B. Puts your body under tension (creates a spring) to give you more strength.
I don't fully understand that second point yet, but it seems to be working.
