So I get to the gym today and noticed that they had a brand new shiny C2 rower. Needless to say, I dumped my WU for the rower. It was as awesome as I remember it! I decided to row 2000m and did it in 7'38". Thing is, I don't know if that is good or not,but it was good. Then I headed into the PL room and was walking to my normal rack only to notice it wasn't there and a hack squat machine was in it's place. I stopped and glanced around to see that everything but the power rack and the DL platform had been moved. The new set up is great. Now I don't have to stare at people's butts while I do rows or presses. My presses felt heavy today and it had me worried, but I compared last weeks loads to this weeks and there were some much greater jumps into the heavier weights. My form felt excellent with little to no back bowing and the only movement was in my arms. I think Ripp would've been proud.

At first I thought you were going to say that they took the power rack out. That would eliminate my need for a gym membership real quick. Also cool news on the C2. Have yet to try one of those. I think the equivalent to running is: 400 Meters of Running = 500 Meters of Rowing. So... 1600 Meters of Running = 2000 Meters of Rowing. So I guess you did the equivalent of running about a mile. I'd be happy with 7:38 on that. Plus you can't beat not having to stair at butts while you exercise. With all the protein shake drinking folks around there you'd be better off at a different "level" if you know what I mean.

The American indoor record for my age group is 6'01" ! I'm going to work it into my programming. Thing is, there's only one and once folks figure out what it is...

I'd be surprised if a lot of people use the rower. It requires a lot more effort than the treadmill, seated bike or elliptical.

Except for Crossfit folks... That's what I would like to think, but 10 years ago I used to work out at the Y at 5am and there were three rowers and there was a sign up sheet!
