So Saturday night the kids were watched by my father in law and spent the night at their cousins house. IDK, there were six kids ranging between age16 to 3YO. Glad I was riding in the back of a car sipping beer instead. We ate at a great restaurant with gluten free choices for the wife. Now before you sneer, my wife has celiac disease and doesn’t choose to be GF. If able, she would eat bread and pasta and wash it down with a nice Belgian wheat beer, but she can’t, so we are limited. I don’t get to go out fine dining very often, the wife does because she has cool hip friends and I stay home with the boys to be nice and my only friends are Heavy Metal Rob and Scooter.
I had Brussels sprouts steamed and dressed with a tasty balsamic vinaigrette, spring mix and beef tartare with toast points and fig preserves. At one point, my wife looked at me and said, “Is that good?”
Me-“Why?”
Wife-“Because you are grinning and chewing.”
It was the best meal I’ve had in a while. Very savory. I would put a little tartare on a piece of toast and top it with some fig. I would eat it a lot if I could. I was the biggest guy in the place, the least hip and our waiter was named Pepper, but I like good food.
Picked up the weights today. The redneck and his wife decided to forego church this morning. They actually had a nice place on 10+ acres, very well kept and more “country folk” than redneck. They are moving and didn’t want to haul the weights.
The stuff was stored indoors and is in used but good condition. Very happy with the purchase. I also think that I can not worry about the power rack and just use the equipment as is. The squat rack is just a freestanding type made of 3 inch tubular steel/alloy. You can adjust it to go low enough to incline bench or high enough to squat. The adjustable bench is nice, sturdy and of commercial quality. The BP bench is nice as well, way more than i need since I don’t bench heavy, maybe I’ll resell it.
I’ll give a more detailed review once I get everything set up and actually start training again.
