Going to hit some Bench and Deadlifts in a little while.
Thought for the day: "Some people workout to get better at life. Some people live to get better at working out."
That came to me last week as I was dragging at work after doing such a long workout that morning. Looks like I'll be dialing it back for a while with this new job. I can't be dragging like that there.

Comments: As you can see, this is a much more trimmed down version of what I was doing. On a normal Friday, I would be doing Bench, Maybe a Pull exercise and a run. I'm cutting out the assistance work. Today I'm doing DLs with Bench just to get them both done. There is no assistance work or core work. Going with the short metcon for conditioning rather than a long run. This week has been very demanding and I haven't slept that well. On top of that, my new boss, who I sat at a two-seater table with at Starbucks for our interview on Wednesday, said that he was sick, so I feel like I'm fighting that off. Not trying to put my body through too much today. Bench: Felt pretty good on these. Failed at 245 lbs. That was my first Failed bench rep at my house. I had a hard time unracking the weight initially and my left hamstring cramped up on me too. Had those things not happened, I may have gotten it. Still, it gave me confidence to miss a rep. My sets of 5 weren't as good as usual. The pauses weren't as long as they should've been. Deadlift: Felt OK on these. Still would love to do these after not having done anything else beforehand. Took my time on this workout. My future workouts shouldn't be this long as there would only be one heavy lift. Metcon: This was a good one. Originally, it was going to be TTB at the end, but I changed it to V-ups since I didn't like the TTB-C2B back to back. I'm glad I did too because my hands were screwed after those Deadlifts. Good metcon. The added difficulty of TTB would have put it closer to 10 minutes, as it was intended. GHD Sit-ups would've been a better sub but required more set-up. Run: Wasn't going to run at all, but did it anyway. Running sucks so bad after doing Deadlifts. Oh well, this won't be the norm. Hope you have a good day. Resting all weekend here.
Comments: As I mentioned earlier, I had trouble unracking the barbell on this one and my hamstring cramped up. I may have gotten it otherwise.

We went to a butterfly house, then to a splash pad. Came home took naps and did BP, accessories and 25m sprints. Highlights: Bench 205*8 for sixth set.

Nice, and I was going to complain about a family trip to Target... Good job on the bench press! 205x8 is solid! 25 meter sprints also sounds a lot more fun than 100 meter sprints. Might have to try that sometime.
