Happy Independence Day Eve!
Planning to do some Deadlifts and a short metcon today. Also, planning to do some house cleaning and get the smoker seasoned and ready to go for tomorrow. Hope you all have a good one. Cool

Deadlifts:
Warm-up:
5x235, 5x265
3x5 @ 70% (295 lbs)
Assistance:
3 Rounds, NFT:
8 Deadlifts @ 210 lbs
20 Sit-ups (Feet Unanchored)
Time: 22:53
Conditioning:
Metcon:
8 Minute EMOM:
1 Ground to Overhead, 115 lbs
2 Burpees
3 SDHPs, 115 lbs
4 Rows, 115 lbs
Comments:
Deadlifts: These felt fine. Nice and strong. I have to tell you, it feels pretty nice to dial it back on these.
I was really hating my working sets at 350 lbs. It was just awful. I mean, what was it for? I'm not going
to be competing. So why sit there and risk injury every week working out at such a high weight?
What I'm trying to say is that I am "settling" on that lift. I can do 400 lbs plus. That's fine with me.
I may still keep going heavier on some of the other lifts.
Metcon: I don't say this very often, but that was a well written metcon. It was simple yet very tough.
I usually finished after 37 seconds and had 23 seconds rest. Good stuff. Bench and a Run tomorrow.
Hope you all have a good day! Cool

Also, I like doing "Ground to Overhead" because it doesn't restrict you to having to do a Snatch or Clean & Jerk/Press. It's just "get the bar from the ground to over your head however you want." Mine are usually a combination of a Power Snatch and Press.

Nice job. I may try the metcon, but I'll use my 25# med ball.
This is what I did:
2.8 miles of 10' run 4' walk 10' run 4' walk 2' at 85% effort up a 15% grade hill. TT=30'02"
I would like to note that I was pushing an ~48# jogging stroller. 36# of three years old and 12# of stroller.

Nice job on the runs and pushing all of that "weight" up the hill! 15% grade? Good Lord!
