Well, having a birthday so close to Christmas always bit me in the "you know what" growing up. Nowadays, since the parents and in-laws give money, it is much better and I usually end up with some extra cash around this time of year. So in addition to the Knee Sleeves and Powerlifting Belt, I just ordered some new Weighlifting Shoes to help with squats and Olympic lifts. In addition to that, I ordered a set of Rings to increase the level of torture enable me to finally be able to do Ring Dips, Ring Pull-ups, etc. I really couldn't part with $200 for weight lifting shoes, so I went middle of the road on those. Also, I couldn't part with $80 for Rings, so I went cheap on those as well. If I have trouble gripping them, I'll get some grip tape or something. $136 for those two items is a good deal to me. So all in all, I'm pretty pumped with upgrading my weightlifting equipment with some much needed stuff, and I now, officially, have no excuses for sucking. From here on out, it is just my skinny, white, little chicken legs, weak core, sleep deprivation, bad attitude and general lack of athletic skill. I'm just glad I could spend a fair amount of money to get to this point and make it plain as day that it is in fact I who suck, not the lack of quality equipment. At least I can still use lack of quality equipment as an excuse for my terrible golf game... Merry Christmas!

Oh Lord! Man, you got the set up now. What kind of shoes? $200 is a lot to spend on a pair of shoes and I don't blame you looking for a deal. Rings are a killer for me. I'm afraid of them.

I linked to the shoes. Pretty middle of the road if you ask me. I don't know. I found a couple of bad reviews for every shoe that I looked at. These were no exception. Still, these look like a good deal. Good support for Squats, etc. Of course, I wouldn't wear these for things other than weight lifting. I'll go back to the running shoes for metcons.

The shoes arrived today. They are too small, too expensive and too purple . So I'm going to send them back for a full refund and have ordered them from Rogue for $30 cheaper in the correct size.
