"Franny" is my scaled version of the classic CF metcon "Fran." I knew I was not ready for the real thing but wanted to try it. I have actually never even tried "Fran" but, I am making it a personal goal to work up to a non scaled session of it. I tried to find it in me to workout this morning and did not. I am not a morning workout person...never really have been. This session was just right. It got me hot, tired and winded.
We start Spring Break tomorrow after work. We have our first soccer games Saturday morning and will be leaving after church on Sunday to go camping for three days. Some old ladies up the street are giving me about three pallets worth of sod they had left over so I will have to find the time to lay that as well.
Soccer season is going to be a lot different for us this year, our team is....well...not so good. I have three kids who are good and then my #1 son is my ringer but the rest...well, all I can say is "God bless 'em. They try hard." #1 and I had a great discussion about leadership, teamwork and winning versus losing. He now understands why my goals for this season are to:
1- develop his abilities, especially his weaknesses and guide him through the leadership process
2- develop the rest of the kids to the best of their abilities
I had a parent meeting today and explained that for the first two games I would be assigning specific jobs to the more experienced players and to not get their feelings hurt if their "precious little Jimmy" wasn't doing one of those jobs.
