Good morning. I may be typing to an empty room this weekend, but type I shall and train I shall. Hope you all are enjoying the weekend. I may go run a 10K this morning and then do some pull-ups. Hope you all have a good day. On this day in history... Up until two years ago when my daughter was born, it was possible for me to sleep in on Saturday morning.

Well, NOLA is nice. Went to the fitness center with the wife this morning. They have Concept c2 rower so I took advantage of it. WU: 5' medium pace then 20 max effort pulls followed by 10 medium effort pulls for 10 rounds then 5' of easy pulls. TT~20-25' The display on the rower was not working so I had to measure the session by pulls. Felt good...off to Treme/7th Ward Arts festival. Happy birthday to your daughter.

Conditioning: Distance Run, Outdoor, Packed Gravel 10K, 49:49 (PR by 6:07), 8:02 Pace, 858 Calories
Comments: Man, I really need to start actually preparing for runs like this instead of staying up late, drinking beer, etc. Plus I mowed the yard yesterday and and that kicked my allergies up. It was somewhat hot too at 85 degrees, but not terribly humid. This was an almost entirely flat course, so that made it easier than the pervious attempts at this distance, which were completed on a course with a lot of hills/elevation gain. Happy with a PR nonetheless! Well, I was supposed to do pull-ups today but am guessing that isn't happening unless I am feeling really motivated later. Hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks so much to those who serve, served and especially to the friends and family of those who paid the ultimate price and have to continue on without them. God bless!

It's the wife's 40th birthday and I decided to pull out all the stops. It's the Hyatt House which is connected to the Hyatt Regency. The Regency is about $220 a night and ours is about $120 but we get to use all the Regency amenities. Either way, they are the best hotels I have ever been to. A++ customer service and very comfortable rooms. While I rowed I was looking at the Superdome from the 32nd floor. Off to the French Quarter for a bit then to Tipitinas for a show.

Sounds like a great hotel and a great time! I have yet to stay at a Hyatt. I'm on the reward program at Holiday Inn and Hilton so I always end up at one of those to get the points. While I don't travel as much now, I'm still platinum/diamond from my old job. Will probably lose it after this year though. Oh well, small price to pay for being at home more..
Anyway, sounds like you all are having a blast! Rowing while looking at the Superdome? That is awesome! Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
