Conditioning: AMRAP in 15' of: 10 Push Press@95#, 10 Bar Facing Burpees and 20 Lateral Bar Jumps
$out: 75 maul strikes
Push Press: pretty good session. I am hoping to get some significant gains in this movement. Conditioning: that was terrible! Burpees are terrible. I am bad at them but that just means that I need to do more of them. $out: I have a lot of wood that needs splitting. Have a great day!

Yeah, that conditioning looks terrible alright. I like the inclusion of your main lift in the conditioning. Sort've like the burnout out sets and/or assistance work that I do. But you lost me at burpees. As far as being good at burpees, my form usually reflects how exhausted I am. If I'm feeling good they resemble a "hit the deck", followed by a quick push-up and then a "pop-up", like on a surfboard. When I'm exhausted I look like I just got shot and then slowly, one leg at a time, drop down onto the ground and do a half a$$ push-up before staggering back up to my feet like a drunk at three o'clock in the morning. My favorite part of this workout is definitely chopping wood. Although I am wondering if it ever gets cold enough to have a fire there? We usually won't even entertain the idea of having a fire until the temp drops into the twenties or below.

I always strive to make them as strict form as possible. In fact, when I was watching the CF games I saw people doing burpee box jump overs and I was happy because my form was better than theirs. Today, by the third round I was practically doing knee push ups and trying not to quit. The bad part about burpees is that if you do them slowly, they seem to suck worse. Man, I jumped over that d@#n bar so many times today...ugh! As for the wood and whether it gets cold. At times it gets just as cold as anywhere else in the South. Yes, it warms up after two days, but it does get below freezing. The thing is, I can burn a fire and I don't have to run my heater. Snow birds come down and settle in and then move because it is too chilly for them. Regardless, it's good exercise. And the strike count was more like 200. I got on a roll and just kept going. My boys were enjoying stacking it. Yes, I said that my boys ENJOYED manual labor. That made me proud.

If you never say another word, I know no that you have succeeded at parenting. Yeah, I was just thinking that the last time I was in your area, the high was 30 degrees. All of the locals were complaining because they had to be outside in it all day for our training. We responded that we picked Pensacola because we figured it would be warm this time of year. My coworker then stated that he was in Wyoming or something the week prior and the high was in the single digits. We would survive.

BTW- worked in downtown Charlotte yesterday. Some manual labor getting all of our gear from the parking lot to the lift and then from the lift to the unit we were testing (and back to the van). Not bad though. The heat was what really sucked. We were shut into a condo on the East side of the building with no air conditioning and no air flow while the sun just baked the place. It had to have been 100 degrees in there. My clothes were completely drenched in sweat. As in, I could have wrung them out. From 7:00AM until about 2:00PM I drank probably 6 liters of water and a gatorade and only peed once. After that, it was a 3 hour drive home and then a few more hours of work in the afternoon at the office. No training though.
After all of that, my boss told me I could hop on a plane (last night) and go down to West Palm Beach for two days of training if I wanted to. It was optional. Well, I try to be a good employee, but had to throw in the towel on that one. Man, I was in bed asleep by 9:30PM and am still tired today. I guess I'll have to learn how to inspect fire doors some other day...
