Good morning. Did some bench before work.
Bench
Work up to a 6 Rep Max for the day.
6x135, 6x165, 6x185, 6x205
Then, one set of Bench Press at 55% for max reps: 20x135
Time: 10:30
Assistance
4 Rounds:
8 Ring Dips
10 Good Mornings, 95 lbs
12 Push-ups
Time: 5:31
Conditioning: This evening
Comments: My bicep is feeling better for the most part, but I don't want to push it. I'm going to 86 the pull-ups this week. It's OK. I'll hit them hard again next week. Wanted to get some bench in instead since my Mom is in town and we haven't seen her in 8 months. Got up a little early, so lets do it!
Bench: Decent sets. Topped out about 10 lbs shy of my current 6RM. I was going for 20 on that burnout set and could have gotten more if I had waited longer after finishing my last working set. Happy with 20 though.
Assistance: Added an extra chest/tricep movement in there since I wasn't doing pull-ups. That was super tough. Usually supersetting a pull with a push exercise gives the opposing muscles a break. This was just solid tricep desctruction. All sets were broken. Still, that was 120 total reps in 5:31 so not a bad showing.
As I mentioned already, my bicep is feeling pretty good, but just to be safe, I want to skip pull-ups this week. I'd prefer to only lose one week rather than screw it up really bad and have to sit out for multiple weeks. Therefore, my metcon this evening may just be mowing the yard. I do plan to do a run tomorrow morning still. Hope you all have a great day!
