Good morning. Enjoyed sleeping in today. Looks like I missed my running window though. I'm thinking about doing a SEALfit metcon instead of my long run for this week. This would likely be one of the ones that we used to do back when we first started the site. Trying to dig around some of my old spreadsheets and find one. Hope you guys fared well down there. It is just starting to rain here.

Conditioning: Metcon "Bullet Proof" 50-30-20 Reps for time of: Pull-ups KB Swings (40 lb dumbbell) Burpees Time: 24:22 Comments: Pouring down rain outside so I'm doing a metcon in place of my run for the week. I wanted to pick something that would take a fairly long time, but wouldn't be terribly taxing on any one muscle group. This is an old SEALFIT metcon that I dug up from a pdf file. It looks like it's going to suck. Here we go... Metcon: You know, running in the rain isn't so bad... Ha ha. Honestly, that metcon wasn't that bad. There were many forced breaks in the pull-ups and I broke up the burpees into mostly sets of 10. I'd say that was a decent sub for a 5K. Still drenched in sweat and there is a nice puddle on the floor where I was doing burpees. So overall, it got the blood flowing pretty well. That was 100 reps of each exercise. Good stuff. Well, we're all stocked up on bee......... eh hem...... I mean...... food, water and batteries. Time to batten down the hatches and get ready for half a foot of rain before the sun comes up tomorrow. We, well, we got nothing. Nothing but blown out surf and killer rip tides. Sunny and hot. Good work on the metcon. I'd say that was definitely a good replacement.

WU: 54321 ladder of Pull-ups and OHS@45,65,95,115,135 TT=4'34" Strength: OHS 5x5@115,125,135,140,145 TT~9' Conditioning: 21-15-9 of DL & OHS both at 135# 12' time cap TT=9'44" Notes: This whole workout SUCKED! But, I'm glad I did it. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Right? I have gotten a lot stronger, especially the OLY lifts. I have some discomfort in my right butt/hip area. Same place as in the past. I've been spending some time with a rigid medicine ball (it's like a huge lacrosse ball that weighs 6kg) and rolling out my butt and hip. I was mega sore today. I could feel all of the lactic acid and fluid from the knots that released into the surrounding tissue. I'm going to spend some time tonight as well. Enjoy the rainy weekend, courtesy of my home state!

The storm is gone and all that remains is a sunny, windy day that actually feels like Fall.
