Conditioning: Distance Run 5K, 25:10, 8:07 Pace, 428 Calories
Comments: 85 degrees and humid for this one. Heat index was in the 90's. Hopefully things will start cooling off soon. That was my first run in two weeks and I'm feeling it. My legs were very fresh, so that was a plus, but my lungs were not. I'm planning to max out this week, or at least work on some heavy singles. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to prepare for it. I may take a few days off from lifting to give my muscles a chance to get fresh. During that time I may do some very light metcons to keep the blood flowing, but that's about it. Then, maybe later this week I'll try to hit some heavy singles. I'll probably do all three lifts in one session, like in a powerlifting meet. We'll see how it goes. After that, I will likely take a few more days off and then do a deload week. The focus for the remainder of the cycle (4 weeks) will be ramping up the conditioning and finishing with either a really long metcon or run at the end of the cycle. Strength work will be reduced to more of a maintenance routine during that time. Instead of sticking with the core lifts I will probably substitute several variations. Well, that's the plan. It was a rest day here as we went as a family to visit my granny. She's hanging in there. All the family members are rallying to see her. Going to have a birthday party for her Saturday week.

Thanks man. Glad you guys are all getting to see your grandmother. I'm sure everyone involved really appreciates it. Glad to hear she is hanging in there too and the birthday party sounds like a great idea.
